Project Data:

8,4 and 10,4 km shield tunnelling with earth pressure balance (EPB) TBMs and single shell lining with cast reinforced concrete segments, outer diameter of segmental rings 6300 mm.

Characteristics: weathered, partly soft, plastic and medium up to stiff clays and sandy ground, partly shallow overburden to sensible utilities, maximum surcharge up to about 23 m, construction with many constraints because of difficult traffic conditions in all of Bangkok.
